About the Leadership Institute Nigeria

Committed to raising model leaders whose honesty, courage, humility, and integrity will transform Africa for the common good.

Learn Our Story

Who We Are

The Leadership Institute (Nigeria) was founded in the year 2001 by Professor Iyorwuese Hagher, Ph.D., OON, a statesman, scholar, diplomat, and advocate for servant leadership. After decades of service in academia, government, and diplomacy, Professor Hagher established the Institute as the first African organisation solely dedicated to leadership training. It is registered in Nigeria as a not-for-profit organisation (Registration No. 13,674).

The Institute was born from a conviction that Africa’s greatest challenge is not a lack of resources but a shortage of ethical, visionary, and selfless leaders. For more than two decades, we have worked to close this leadership gap by equipping leaders with the values, skills, and courage to serve the common good.

Our programs, workshops, and seminars target leaders in government, civil service, education, business, and community life, preparing them to anticipate challenges, think critically, act ethically, and lead selflessly. We believe leadership is not accidental or circumstantial but a discipline that can and must be taught.
